Dignity in suffering and death

Even on the night of the 12 th November just 15 to 16 hours before her finally leaving when I saw her I remember

Though her lips were dry almost parched
Her face was pale
But there was a hallow around it , peace and her inner strength shined through the paleness
Dignity !
Whenever I called out her name she opened her eyes
There was such grace even then in her eye movements her glances
Even when she Shook her head in acknowledgement upon my asking her whether she is really listening , there was so much grace

She didn't cry
She wasn't afraid
She wasn't clinging to anything

Her face was calm and in complete equanimity even when rishiji ( the most respected and loved person in her life after sri sri ji ) met her on the 12 th night
She did not seek or ask for a last minute boon
She did not beg
She had no fear

In fact I remember her telling rishiji on the 10 th or the 15 th of October just a month before her Leaving " this time I don't want you to take panga with guruji "

At that time I did not understand this

Now it's all clear

Very few people suffer in dignity
People when in pain and agony loose their balance of mind
They become miserable helpless and indulge in self pity
Only a few maintain composure and dignity
This cannot be pretended
As the fear and frustration can be so great that all the artificiality will quickly give way to the inner truth
Only inner strength can make one smile in adversity , in despair and in pain

This is what now I notice , remember , and reflect upon as one of the so many virtues of my sister Richa
She suffered in dignity
She died in dignity
Even after several hours of her having left  her physical form she had a glow of peace and radiance
She had dignity even then

She lived a life of dignity , suffered with dignity and died in dignity

For us to get inspired
and for fearful souls  like me it's to be in awe of
