9 dec 2008 letter ( draft ) for sri sri ji on recommendation of richa

To,
Shri. Ravi Shankarji,

Respected Guruji,

I would like to introduce myself as Richa’s brother.

She is your disciple and devote since last several years.

She has been given second life by your grace as she suffered a lot last few years due to a strange almost incurable kind of a condition called autoimuable disorder.

Hopefully she is out of it permanently now.

Myself and my father we are running 3 spinning mills 1 located in Gujarat, 1 in West Bengal and the other 1 in Kerala.

These are spinning mills producing synthetic blended yarn which was for shirting and sutings.

Since last several years we have been suffering due to a financial dispatch which started with one of our major expansions remaining unfunded due to a collapse in capital market in 1995.

That has persisted and somehow we have not been able to come out of the dead trap.

Apart from a lot of debt we are plagued by creditors who have gone to court so there is always a lot of litigation going on.

This has really affected our mental health as well as physical health particularly of my father.

We are trying our best to revive the condition but now with the existing state of world economy it become even tougher.

Right now our survival is at ............. and we literally do not know what will happen tomorrow.

Things are pretty bad.

Richa insisted that I should send this letter hence request you for not only divine intervention but also maybe some practical business advice which would help us in and around the situation.

I do seek both your grace as well as advice.

My Pranayam to you,

Ashish Bagrodia

to bret for usa trip to mayo clinic in 2008

23rd July 2009

To,
Mr. Bret ,

Dear Bret ,

Everything is almost ready now, the latest MRCP Scans are ready in the Dicom format.  However the earlier old reports could not be converted into Dicom format as nobody in Bombay can do it therefore Mayo Clinic has agreed to accept them in the jpg format.

We are sending in one CD ROM with a summary note prepared by our doctor.

They have asked us to give tentative date for our visit.

Keeping in view astrological considerations, as the shraadh period will end by 18th September and Navratra will begin from 19th September.  The earliest we could leave from Bombay could by 19th or 20th September and as the journey would be very long.  We would like Richa to take rest in London hence we would like to fly via London break the journey for 2 days then go to America and then again break the journey for 2 days before we can reach the Mayo Clinic because most probably I think we will have to reach New York and then again break the journey for 1 or 2 days and then from New York go to Mayo Clinic.

Will it be convenient for you to join us for this journey as we cannot make it without you?

Hence only with your presence and support we can do this.  Therefore will it be possible for you and Govind Maa to accompany us in this journey.

The dates would be between 19th or 20th of September for departure from Mumbai.

We don’t want you to also to travel during the shraadh period therefore maybe we will have a meeting with you or a conference call before the shraadh.  Then if it is convenient yourself and Govind Maa could reach Bombay on the 19th itself and then all could leave for America on the 20thmaybe after 24 hours or 36 hours via London .

Kindly let me know your convenient dates etc. so that we can make all your travel arrangements right from Tirumulai to Bombay and then from Bombay to America and back.

Yours affectionately,

Ashish.

Sunday 29 March 2015

Today I spoke to Dr. Balakrishnan email sent on 25 th october 2014 , 18 days before richa left

Today I spoke to Dr. Balakrishnan, one of the doctors which was recommended by Dr. V R Joshi.

He is a nice man. He explained the entire situation to me.

He said that he has read my letter and after reading the letter and understanding from Mr. Shivaji More that we have been patronising since last several years Bombay Hospital. He feels that we should go to Bombay Hospital get admitted under Dr. Tiwari and Dr. Tiwari should call Dr. Amin who is also a good rheumatologist and Richa can be treated by Dr. Amin.

As far as Hinduja is concerned although he is connected to Hinduja but he feels that it will not be a good idea to be admitted in any hospital under a rheumatologist. He feels whether it is Hinduja or Bombay Hospital or Breach candy Hospital or any hospital we should get Richa admitted under a physician and not under rheumatologist.

He says that the physician will have to coordinate and see what is the best for the patient and not the rheumatologist.

Therefore, he was not so keen regardingHinduja. He was more keen about Bombay Hospital and also he was telling me why not Breach Candy. He was saying why not you people get her admitted in Breach Candy because you can get her admitted under Dr. Farokh Udwadia and then let Dr. Farokh Udwadia take care because there are some good rheumatologist connected to Breach Candy Hospital and also Dr. Farokh Udwadia is a very good doctor with very good knowledge of the subject he will take care.

This is what he is saying.

It is my personal opinion that this time because the objective and target is to gradually reduce the steroids and attend to the primary disease why not we try Breach Candy Hospital maybe we could get her admitted under Dr. Farokh Udwadia directly and that can be coordinated by Dr. Kirti Punamiya.

My feeling is this time why not we try Breach Candy Hospital.

At least we should see what Dr. Farokh Udwadia has to say that is the only choice considering that amongst old stalwarts as V R Joshi is not available so why not try Dr. Farokh Udwadia.

He was saying that there is one good rheumatologist attached to Breach Candy also and then he said Farokh Udwadia can call any other specialist also he can call any other specialist to the hospital.

This is what I feel why not we try at Breach Candy.

Otherwise, as you have already discussed that day with Dr. Gautam Bhansali we can go back to Bombay Hospital and the entire objective should be only to reduce steroids.

Ashish Bagrodia

Ps- I've told Mr. Shivaji More to go to deliver my letter to Dr. Samant the third doctor as suggested by Dr. Joshi

I also feel that Margaret and Dharmishtha should take the case history of Richa and go amd meet Dr. Kaushik Bhojwani. There is no harm let them at least go and discuss the case with Dr. Kaushik and see what he has to say. Maybe he will give some idea because today amongst all of them he is definitely the senior most person.

Autoimmune disorder does not kill people before the age of 45 or 55.my email on 7 December

As I see photos of Richa, it is very clear that I'm fully responsible for her having to go at the age of 34.

Autoimmune disorder does not kill people before the age of 45 or 55. Normally it happens to ladies only, and normally they say it is after age of 45 most probably around 55 years age people die because then all the organs start failing. In the case of Richa she left us at the age of 34.

No doubt I'm 100% to be blamed but I also feel strongly that Dr. Shaikh was our family physician never went into detail because Dr. Tiwari was looking at Richa once in few months only when she would go to hospital. It was Dr. Shaikh who should have gone into detail of the disease. I don't think he ever even read what is meant by autoimmune disorder. He should have realised that the real problem is of protein, real problem is of, real problem is of diet and all this is happening due to diabetes. Diabetes could have been controlled. Her diet could have been managed. There could have been other things done. What in the end we were trying to do by putting tube in her stomach. This could have been done six months back or one year back. People who have very serious neuropathy do this at the right time, not so late.

I always feel that in spite of the fact that Dr. Gurmit is a super intelligent idiot just like me and Mama ji. People who are super intelligent ultimately are idiots, but the fact is, he had a complete knowledge of her disease. Either he had or to some extent it was Dr. Mrs Goel. Apart from these two people, I don't think anybody really understood what her problem was. In fact even Bret Carlson had better understanding of her disease as compared to Shaikh.

I don't blame Dr. Tiwari, because he simply gave Richa symptomatic treatment. He never looked at the big picture and one major problem has been the distance. Had Tiwari ji seen her every month like a family physician, even he would have come to know that problems need to be attended of nourishment.

It is very very sad.

At your age of 70, how much you can do it was my fault and to some extent I feel family members apart from me also should take responsibility. After all Dharmishta was not so young. I remember when I was hardly 14 years old and mummy was getting tachy cardia attack at that age of 14 I had started maintaining file for her and I had started doing research on Isoptin, I was only 14 years old.

So even Dharmishta to some extent could have taken a little more interest.

Once mummy told me few weeks before that Richa used to say "Aao log ne mere liye kiya hi kya hai, jab bhi hota hai Bombay hospital me patak dete hai".

I think it is absolutely correct. All that we were doing was calling Dr. Shaikh, a total idiot and Dr. Tiwari, who was a very busy man.

Even if Dr. Gurmit would have consulted or rather we would have consulted and he would have visited herevery month and at least theoretically speaking, he would have given right direction. Even Dr. Mrs. Goel, her involvement would have helped.

I don't know how much Dr. Faroukh Udwadia would have helped, but I'm sure simple involvement of Mrs. Goel and Gurmit would have helped.

At least now I have learnt a lesson that I am not going to take now any risk when it comes to the other family members and we should only go to doctors who are giving full information.

Another thing is in the year 2008 when I was in Calcutta. I was suddenly feeling very very much upset about Richa. I don't know why I am not able to remember. I was all the time feeling worried and I had decided to send Bret Carlson to America and he had agreed also after lot of persuasion. He just wanted us to make proper CD and DVD for which Dr. Gurmit had started work with Neeta Desai. Unfortunately I lost interest and things passed away. Time just flew otherwise in that year I had made up my mind whatever it will happen. I will send Bret Carlson to Mayo Clinic and John Hopkins. Even that is some big mistake I made because all said and done, Dr. Robert Svoboda also told me that for autoimmune disorder, the specialist doctor is called immunologist and immunologist is a common doctor in USA hospital. It is so sad that in India we don't have one single immunologist.

Apart from immunology how to manage infection, repeated infection is a separate part which normally doctors who handle Aids know. In the same manner complication of steroids is all documented fact and diabetes is a known complication. Here also we made mistakes. What Dr. Tiwari should have done, he should have involved one autoimmune doctor, one diabetes doctor, one dietician apart from a specialist who handles infection and antibiotics because even having full knowledge of antibiotic is a separate field and this normally is handled by those doctors who are handling infection in the patient having Aids.

Anyway I can only now regret, but I want all of us to be very careful about the rest of the family and when it comes to medical intervention, we should sell whatever has to be sold, but take the person to John Hopkins at the right time.

I personally regret that in the year 2008 I stop taking initiative, otherwise I had made up my mind that anyhow, we will take her to John Hopkins and Mayo Clinic,

Actually speaking these doctors are very - very third class, very few doctors have the brains. So it is the family members who has to really go in detail. I think after Faroukh Udwadia, there may not be a single extraordinary general physician. Anyway one advantage of going to specialist would have been that they would have automatically given reference to experts. This was mistake made by Dr. Tiwari. Suppose we would have gone to Hinduja, they would have given reference to diabetes expert, to the autoimmune expert, to the general physician, to the antibiotic specialist

your dances

Dear Richa
On 21 march I received the new digital frame which was purchased a few weeks back with your photos
These are those photos which were taken during your dances
Dances in marriages and functions
I was afraid to see them
As I had just started my day and had meetings etc
I felt I will be overwhelmed with grief and breakdown
So I avoided seeing them in spite of the fact that the digital frame was already put on
Finally I did gather courage to see a few
Then almost all
The ones in which you do the peacock dance , wearing that peacock dress and the feathers
That really stole my heart away
And made me very upset
As I remember seeing this dance
And I wanted to see that small Richa once again

Yesterday or day before not sure I was talking to yogesh Goyal , he was saying that he remembers you as a small girl coming from school and reciting poems for all of us

7.50 p.m. 21st March.

7.50 p.m. 21st March.
2.                        Just now the latest and small photo frame has been put on.  This has photos of Richa, for having danced in various marriages.
3.                        I am seeing the photos for the first time. And as usual is going to affect me severely.
4.                        Anjala nurse has brought coffee and I am hungry.
5.                        Today has been a day of grief.
6.                        So naturally seeing these photos, I am going to be upset.

5.45 pm 27 march

Yesterday I was talking to dharmishta
I wanted to talk about you
I wanted to know what would you eat
What you liked
She said you liked bread
You would eat once in while and then say that now you will not have it for a few days
You had " chaale " in your mouth ( blisters / open wounds )
Hearing this I almost trembled
I can't understand how you suffered so much and yet never I knew
I knew it yet I didn't know it

Your email to anju venkat shook me up
I still have no guts to read it again

I keep thinking of you in the Bombay hospital icu
Lying down
All alone
In a state of semi awake condition due to those sedatives

I remember you opening your eyes whenever I called out your name in the night of 12 nov
And nodding  your head in acknowledgement when we asked " sun raha hai na "

a brother who yearns to be with his sister

Almighty god , you took away Richa , now at least let me connect to her in some way , I want to talk to her , ask her questions
Please god
Let me connect to her
You are the creator the destroyer
Can't you do this much for a brother who yearns to be with his sister
Not possible ?
Why
Why
Why

Had you been " not ill "

Richa
Had you been " not ill "
You would have spent a lot of time with me
Isn't it
You would have come to my room
You would have gone out with me to restaurants
Isn't it
Remember we had travelled together to chennai
Also our restaurant trips
You were my pet ( as reena balakrishnan also says )

You felt ill
Then we could not meet
Me and my own physical limitations
Then my mental preoccupations
My obsessions , my own personal life struggles
All this prevented me to be with you

Even when you were at worli
I would not come to meet you
I was at midc
I was too involved with Margaret
Now I recall once you too came to the station
We met at the Bandra station
It was 2005 I think so
Or was it 2004
That means you had recovered
I think even in 2005 you were visiting bandra often
The house of dinesh ?
What was it ?
Maybe distribution of leaflets of art of living at bandra sea face or joggers  park ? I am unable to remember now
But I am sure you came to the station
Margaret was also there
